First visit with Santa

We went to Tuscaloosa to see Santa. We all had bets on how Harper would act! I personally thought that she would scream in terror and want her Mommy. I was wrong....She surprised us all. She liked Santa! And this made my heart Smile!

Having Fun at the Pediatrician's Office

We always have fun when we go to the doctor!!

Happy Halloween!!!

We went to Lock 17 camp ground for Halloween this year to visit our friends. Harper had a great time and took everything in! She dressed as a Pink Poodle and was absolutely precious!

6 Months Old

Harper is growing so fast! We are enjoying every minute of her! She went for her 6 month check up and she is doing great! She weighed 18 lb 10oz (90%) and was 28 1/2 in long (>97%). We have started stage 2 foods. At first she didn't know what to think, but she is getting better. We still are not eating fruits, I sneak apples in her oatmeal just so she can get a fruit. She just is not interested in them! She is starting to sit up by herself. It is only for a brief time, then she realizes that she is sitting and falls over. I had a friend to take her pictures on Alabama's Campus and this is one that he sent me. (Thanks Paul!)

5 Months Old

On September 13th, Harper turned 5 months old. A few of her highlights:
She LOVES her feet! She is constantly playing with them and trying to put them in her mouth! She is doing really well with stage 1 foods. Her favorite is green beans! She also likes sweet potatoes and squash. She does not care for carrots or peas. We just started eating fruits and she is not so sure about them. She loves oatmeal and prefers apples in it. We have started teething, so everything is going directly in our mouth. She chews on everything! On September 5th, she learned to roll over! She is constantly rolling over and getting mad because she has not figured out how to get her arms from underneath her!

Harper's First Football Game

On September 3, Harper went to her first Oak Grove High School Football game. We played Midfield High School. She did very good but got sleepy toward the end of the game. We left shortly after congratulating Daddy on their win over Midfield!

Starting Baby Food

We got the go ahead to start baby food. We started off with Green beans and then after four days we went to peas. She still does not like rice cereal by itself. But she is getting it in her bottle for her acid reflux. Here are the pictures of her first attempt of Stage One foods:

Not sure what to think?

By the end of the feeding, she seemed to like it!

4 Months Old

We had our four month check up on Monday. She is meeting all of her developmental milestones and is doing great. She weighed 15 lbs. (90th %) and was 25 1/2 inches long (90th %)! She is growing so fast! She is still sleeping throughout the night, which Mommy loves! We got the go ahead to start stage one foods so we will see how that goes! I have started back to work and Harper is staying with a babysitter in her home. She seems to be adjusting very well! It was hard dropping her off the first morning, but I know it is for the best!

A Few Of My Favorite Pictures

3 Months Old

This picture was taken on July 13th. She is growing so fast! A few of her three month highlights are: She loves her hands! She keeps them in her mouth all the time. She loves sticking her tongue out and blowing bubbles and the most important milestone is that she sleeps ALL NIGHT!!! I put her down around 8:00 p.m. and she usually wakes up around 7:00 a.m. It is such a blessing because I am starting back to work on August 5th, and I am going to need my sleep! She is such a blessing and I cherish everyday with her!!!

My Poor Baby

Last week (06-21/06-23) Harper was admitted to The Childrens Hospital. As many of you know, she has horrible acid reflux. On Monday, she was very fussy and refused to take her bottles. I kept thinking she is eventually going to get hungry and eat. Well she never did. Monday night I called after hours and the nurse told us to go ahead and go to Childrens. They tried to get her to take a bottle again and she refused it. They took xrays of her stomach, which came back normal. After the doctor came in and did his assessment, he said that she was dehydrated and she needed to have blood work drawn and an IV started. She was so dehydrated that she did not have any good veins. It took the nurses 7 times to finally get it started. She started taking her bottle on Tuesday and we got to go home on Wednesday. The doctors said that she had esophagitis and started her on a new medicine to coat her esophagus. She is feeling much better now and we are just hoping she grows out of this soon!

Harper's First Beach Trip

This past weekend was Harper's first trip to Panama City Beach. She did great! We only had to stop once one the way down there and on the way back. She slept the whole way! It was too hot to carry her to the beach during the day, so we carried her in the evening when it was cooler. She did not mind the sand but she loved putting her feet in the water. She even slept thru the night on Saturday! I had so much fun with her!

2 Month Check Up

Today was Harper's 2 month check up. She is getting so big! I can not believe that she is already 2 months old. I now understand what they mean when they say they grow up so fast! She weighs 11lbs and 9 oz and is 24 inches long. She is in the 75% in weight and the 90% in height. She still is having trouble lying flat so she sleeps in the car seat or the swing! Every time we put her flat she spits up everything. We have tried elevating the crib, but to get the mattress high enough, she ends up at the bottom. She is sleeping about 5 hours straight during the night and usually only wakes up once to eat. Since starting the soy formula she has not had any more colic spells! She is such a happy baby now!
